With peak tennis season upon us, it's a great time to re-visit the FCC court reservation policy.....
A court reservation can be made a maximum 7 days in advance. For example: If you want to play tennis NEXT FRIDAY at 9am, you can reserve a court no earlier than THIS FRIDAY at 9am. Please don't come over after dinner on Thursday night to reserve your court for next Friday. Of course this system is not perfect. Until we have an online reservation system (it's coming next year), we ask that you use the honor-system and respect the other FCC members that also want to use the tennis courts. Here's a few tips that you may find useful:
1- Start your game at 8am instead of 9am. This may be important to our members who are heat-sensitive and it also allows another group to play at 9:30 !
2- Start your game at 10:30 if you don't really need to play early. This would be an attractive time for our members who are used to playing in warmer conditions during USTA league play. Afterward you could go have lunch and cocktails in the clubhouse! Yeah.....fun!!!!
3- Many of you organize 'group' play, using two courts at the same time. If you insist on having a 2-court group, try scheduling your game at the suggested times above.
These are a few ways to spread the play so over-congestion can be avoided at peak times. I hope you can take advantage of these options.
Many of my private lesson clients (FCC members) have volunteered to have their lessons at later times so the courts can remain available for others to play their tennis games at these high-demand times of the morning. I thank my members for that!
We just don't have enough courts to provide guaranteed availability for all members in prime-time. I must say, it's a nice problem to have!!
Please never hesitate to contact me with your thoughts and ideas. My bark is much worse than my bite....just ask my mother!
