Well Deserved

The first title of the 2021 season has been captured.  Nikki Matheny and Mary Pat Longo clinched their first FCC Championship this morning.  The winning duo prevailed in a well-fought contest with Deb Preston and first time tournament participant Diana Kirk.   Also participating in the ladies 6.0 division were first-time participants Leta Brunner and Kama Kett.   Thanks so much to all those who played in this very fun Round Robin!

Champs Knocked from Throne

In a surprising result, defending champs Atkins / MacDonald went down to Ostrander / Walton 7-6, 6-3 in a men's semi-final match for the FCC Men's Doubles Championship.  

Down 1-4 in the first set, the team of Ostrander / Walton fought their way back to get into a tie-break which they won.  

Both teams exchanged service breaks early in the second set before the eventual winners held serve then went on to break again for the win.   

The next semi-final pits Hull / J Preston against Dale / Lather on Wednesday at 6:30pm.   

Date for Ladies Final Set

The finals of the FCC Ladies Tennis Championship is set for TUESDAY JULY 19th 4pm.  The match, which is sure to be a great battle, pairs Sarah Mayle/Pam Hardy against Jane Heck/Suzie Spragg.
