Good Progress
This weekend brought more decent weather to get outside and continue prepping the clay courts. Today William was learning how to handle a lute to fill last year’s nail holes.

He also picked up some leaves and debris that gathered in the corners over the winter. The courts must be cleared of all foreign material before rolling begins.

I’m very fortunate to have a son like William. He always enjoys learning new skills and helping others.

Wednesday July 4th - Party Time !!!
Thanks so much to the 12 brave players who came over on a sweltering, sticky hot day to play A BUNCH of tennis, drink a lot of liquid refreshment, and eat some cool freshing snacks. Our format today was called Fast4, and it worked great, so be sure we'll try it again at our July 14 party. Below is a photo during today's event that also shows the new location of the Info Board.
Today's prize winners were the Steffen's and the MacDonald's.

Have you registered yet for the Mixed Doubles Tourney ???? Do so at the Info Board or by contacting Bob Cook.

Sunday Stunner
Sunday even at the FCC Tennis Courts were host of huge drama as Defending champions Walton and Ostrander were defeated 7-5, 6-3 by the first year team of Hull and J Preston.
With a crowd of 6 spectators, the match reached a fever pitch at the end of the first set as both teams battled for their lives to grab the early lead.
After Hull and Preston took the first set, they were able to inject a bit more confidence in their efforts as they won the second set 6-3.
At 6pm on August 23rd, Hull & Preston will face-off against Scott Atkins and Kevin MacDonald, who defeated the team of Hasegawa / Kreuchauf about 5 years ago (at least it feels like it) in their semi-final.
In the 3rd place final, the semi-final losers will play at 6pm on August 30.
Semi-Finally........
It's been a long time coming but we will finally play the second semi-final of the FCC Club Championships is scheduled for Sunday August 16th at 6:30pm. Come by and see the action as defending champions Walton/Ostrander do battle with the first-year team of JJ Preston/Matt Hull.
Waiting in the finals is last year's runners-up team of MacDonald/Atkins.
